A Cry from the Heart!
A Hurting
Word...
Playing house, next to playing school, was one of my favorite things to do. I had many, many dolls, and at night, I would "kneel" them down at the living room sofa, exhorting them to "pray through." Remember the walk-me/feed-me/change-Me/CRY-me doll you used to have? They're alot more sophiscated now, with computer chips to make a doll walk, talk, cry, eat, wet and cry some more--all at the same time...well, almost! As children, we had fun playing "parent"--entering the grown-up world through the make-believe door. And then one day, the door to imagination opened to reality. We found ourselves adults--and parents--and grown-up real people with real needs--who REALLY needed to "pray through!"
We're too big to cry now--or are we? NO-a thousand times NO! Check out your Bible concordance for the word "cry"--it's there MANY times. Our Bible heroes cried to the Lord and He heard. He's not changed--WE can cry to Him as well, from the depths of our hearts, and He hears. And there's nothing make-believe about Him! Come along to the Well, grown-up kids--He's waiting there to hear us all!

Jesus, Help Me! - The Hurdles of Life
The Name of Jesus is an all-conquering Name, and when we cry for help, whatever the hurdle, He's there. Has a hurdle of life confronted you lately? You can't walk around it, tunnel through it, jump over it--it's just there, a big-boulder problem that no earthly answer will remove.
I know a Name--it's Jesus Christ--and when you cry, "JESUS!" the Great Problem-Solver shows up! He's there to help you solve the "stuff" that's just too big for you--financial needs, family difficulties, job conflicts--whatever that great big need, bring it to Jesus. He's bigger than any hurdle in our lives--and HE can handle it. Cry, "Jesus, HELP ME!" and He will!
Jesus, Hold Me! - The Heavies of Life
The Name of Jesus is an all-sufficient Name, and when we crumble beneath the heavy emotional burdens on our backs, He's there. Has something heavy got you down? Fear? Anxiety? Depression? Unnamed feelings that gnaw at your soul, pulling you down to despair? Difficult situations and circumstances you just cannot handle?
I know a Name--it's Jesus Christ--and when you cry, "JESUS!" the Great Burden-Bearer shows up with great big arms of love--first to hold you, then to help you lift the load! His loving embrace says, "I'm here--everything's going to be all right." And suddenly, it's bearable--His strong arms now hold you AND your load--and you can make it! There's hope--for heaven's on your side. He's bigger than any "heavy" in your life--and HE can handle it--and you too. Cry, "Jesus, HOLD ME!" and He will!
Jesus, Heal Me! - The Hurts of Life
The Name of Jesus is an all-recovering Name, and when we break beneath the heartbreaks of life, He's there. Has something hurtful devastated you and driven you to despair? Is there bitterness, unforgiveness, pain and anger hiding deep within? Jesus, the Great Physician, heals not only bodies--He heals minds and hearts as well.
I know a Name--it's Jesus Christ--and when you cry, "JESUS!" the Great Physician shows up. He may need to do some supernatural surgery to clean out the diseased, hurting wound--and it may hurt and sting; but then watch Him pour on the soothing oil, as HE heals from the inside out. There's healing today--physical AND emotional for whatever is going on in your life. Cry, "Jesus, HEAL ME!" and He will!
Life isn't make-believe anymore. We're much too grown-up to play house...and yet we do. We struggle and pretend it's all right--we go through the motions of making meals, doing the laundry, driving the taxi, even attending church--and inside we're crying for help. Stop the merry-go-round; get down on your knees and cry out to the One who CAN help. If all you can do is call on the Name of "JESUS!" - well, DO IT! He'll be there - right on the scene - to help, hold and heal - for He hears a cry from the heart - and He answers.
And remember, when the words are ALL gone, a silent cry to Jesus can be heard in heaven--and He will be there to meet your need. Believe it--call on that lovely, Almighty Name--and know that "before you call, He will answer, and while you are yet speaking, He will hear" the REAL cry from your REAL heart this day!

"Lord, life isn't just make-believe anymore. Inside, I hurt. I need help and healing--and there's no one else to run to, but You. I've tried everyone else--and all the time You've been waiting to help me, hold me, heal me--if I would just call. I'm calling now, Lord. Hear my cry--and help me know You are there. You are all I need, In Jesus' Name, Amen.
