Sounds...spooks...shadows--nighttime can be a scary time for a little kid! Then we grow up and the nighttime spooks and shadows are replaced by love...listening...laughter...the magical time called "night" becomes filled with sparkling warmth and starry wonder....Now THAT'S in storybooks, in stashed-away movie musicals, and SOMETIMES, in real life! For you see, real night in real life can be a nightmare, especially when a certain "thief" comes around....Turn on your flashlight, tiptoe to the well, and let's watch the thief in operation. He's sneaky, subtle, suggestive, seducive, snake-like and his hissing sounds fill the night air, so be careful...uh...better bring your Sword too!

Thief on the loose--to steal your sainthood!!
You're a SAINT...in God's eyes and whether you feel like it or not. His Word says you are--and His Word is true! But watch out--there's a sneaky thief in your backyard tonight, and he'd like to steal away your sainthood--to destroy WHO YOU ARE--every ounce of self-worth and self-respect you possess. He will taunt and try you, attack and try to disarm you, until you are down in the dirt, a worthless nothing at Satan's disposal. Well, get up from the dirt, dust yourself off, stand tall, and in the darkness of the night......
Look up! The Star of the Morning shines for you! Jesus Christ, in the brightness of His coming to your life, will destroy the destroyer for you. He's already conquered him on Calvary, and you can stand on God's Word. TELL him who you are--you are a child of God, bought with the Blood, robed in righteousness, and redeemed forevermore! Believe it--and take a hike, thief. You're on God's property and not welcome here!
Thief on the loose--to kill your kool!!
You're KOOL---a creature made in God's image to do God's tasks He has assigned to you. When you're working for Him in the power of His might, you're KOOL...and that's what Satan would like to kill. He wants to deaden WHAT YOU DO, make it of no account, kill your every ounce of self-confidence, grab the Sword from your hand, and run. Well, hold on to that sword, don't let Satan defeat you in the work you do for the Lord. Stand tall in the armor of His might, and in the darkness of the night....
Look up! The Star of the Morning shines for you. Stars give off energy, and HIS Star is known for the power and dynamo resident in His Spirit. Claim it this night and go in the strength of the Lord. Don't give up your work for the Lord. Don't let Satan browbeat you until you are a weakened warrior, and whatever you do, don't turn around and run! It's time to TELL the devil WHAT YOU DO--you are a soldier of the Cross, a warrior for the right, and a winner in the Kingdom's service. Believe it--and tell the thief to take a hike! He's on God's property and not welcome here!

You're DELIGHTFUL...filled with the joy of the Lord, and a shining witness to your world. Your attitude and demeanor attracts seekers to your Savior, and the devil knows it.! And so, the thief in the backyard continues on the prowl, this time to destroy your joy, to attack HOW YOU FEEL. We do not live by emotions alone, but we know emotions play an integral part in our spiritual well-being. When we're down, the delight is gone, and the attraction diminishes.....just what the thief wants. And so he attacks--self-pity enters the scene, self-absorption, self-abasement--delight turns to despair; joy turns to junk--as the devil pours it on--into your spirit, soul and body! Well, you can choose to stop his emotional rampage, refuse to believe his lies, stand victoriously in the joy of the Lord, and in the darkness of the night...
Look up! The Star of the Morning shines for YOU! He wants you to see yourself in the light of HIS love. You are His dear possession; He's given you the beauty of His grace, the wonder of His love, the delight of His joy--and He wants to refresh your spirit this day. The devil has no control over your emotions--unless you allow him to do so--so choose to look UP! Jesus Christ will not fail you. He will restore to you the joy and delight which Satan has tried to destroy. He is a liar from the pit, and has no right to ruin your life! Believe it--and tell the thief to take a hike! He's on God's property and not welcome here!
Who am I? I am God's child, a person of self-worth and dignity. I will act like one today!
What do I do? I serve the King; I rescue souls for His Kingdom; I will work for Him today!.
How do I feel? "The joy of the Lord is my strength"--THAT's how I feel, by faith this day!
And now, I go in HIS name, the "Star of the Morning," in the light of His love, peace and joy-- to be, to do, and to feel like a child of the King, whose I am and whom I serve!
...and that's just a word or two--from my heart to yours!
