Sounds like a melodrama, and it is--only it's not make-believe; it's real! If you are a child of God, a sheep of His pasture, beware! Green pastures provoke grungy predators, and you and I are not immune from attack. This predator I specifically speak of is no dummy. He will attack your home, your health, your worth, your church, and your children. He will threaten your spirit, soul, body and mind--and if you're not aware of his devices, he'll play a heaven-and-hell game with your very life!
Encouraging words to uplift, inspire and make your day! No, cautioning words to wake you up, make you sharp, and take you straight to the arms of the Shepherd, your KING and RULER of your life, keeper of your soul, who promises, "There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling (Psalm 91:10)." The Shepherd King's waiting at the Well for us now. He protects, provides for, and possesses His sheep in safety, so draw near--He's calling YOU to come!

He Leads Me in Paths of Righteousness for His Name's Sake!
King of Righteousness! The LORD is my shepherd, and He calls me to a path of purity--mind, soul, body and spirit--set apart for His Kingdom and His service, anointed to be His servant in the pastures of His world. I hear His voice! I respond, and He covers me with His robe of righteousness. I will glory in His grace; I will walk in His ways. My steps will be ordered of the Lord, my righteousness secure in His care.
But wait, little sheep! Lurking in the shadows of the sheepfold is the crook of all time--the thief who's waiting to rob you of your kingdom righteousness; to tempt your committed love; to taunt you into his game...what to do? You have a choice...to listen to the voice of the King; to surrender to the voice of the crook...for to whomever you listen, that's who will rule your soul.....
JESUS...JESUS....I call Thy Name! I respond to Thy Word, I run to Thy Voice, and I am safe once again! Oh, the power of His Name! The King reigns, and the crook is GONE! Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
He Leads Me Beside the Still Waters!
Perfecter of Peace! That's my Shepherd King, and He calls me to a path of peace...beside still waters, amidst the storms that rage around me. His peace passes understanding, and I am held --mind, soul, body and spirit--in the palm of His hand. Nothing can harm me; nothing can disturb or hurt me, for I abide in His shadow. His peace covers me, and I am at rest.
But wait, little sheep! Lurking in the shadows of the sheepfold is the crook of all time--the thief who's waiting to rob you of your kingdom peace, to funnel fear like a tornado into the recesses of your heart, to pour in doubt, distress, and diseased thinking until peace turns to torment....what will you do? You have a choice...to listen to the calm, committed voice of the King; or to surrender to the fearful, fretful voice of the crook...for to whomever you listen, that's who will rule your mind...

Banquet Table of Joy!
Cupbearer of Joy! That's my Shepherd King, and He serves me at His banqueting table, right in the presence of my enemies, until joy just overflows. His joy is beyond measure--not as the world gives, nor can the world take away. It's a deep, inner joy; a secure, abiding joy which results from a Spirit-filled life. It blesses me, and those I touch, for it's an attractive joy. It radiates from my spirit, my body, my soul; it refreshes me and the world around me. His joy fills me, and I am free.
But wait, little sheep! Lurking in the shadows of the sheepfold is the crook of all time--the thief who's ready to rob you of your God-given joy. He'll try to grab the goodness of God, to steal the wholeness of your spirit, the health of your body, the healing of your soul. He'll do it every time--attempted assault and battery, robbery in its lowest form...and the joy turns to fretfulness and failing, faltering emotions and a fragmented heart. Joy? What joy? It's gone...
JESUS...JESUS...I call Thy Name! I respond to Thy Word, I run to Thy Voice, and my heart fills with joy once again. Oh, the power of His Name! The King reigns, and the crook is GONE! Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
Melodramatic, to be sure...but if you've ever been there, you know it's played out many a time in real life. It happens...and when the thief, the robber of all time, invades your green pastures, you know it! But remember, so does the Shepherd of your Soul. His eye never leaves you; His heart hears your faintest cry. He will come to your rescue, for He is the ruler of righteousness, the perfecter of peace and the cupbearer of joy. He is Lord; He is King--so sheepfold crook, BE GONE--in the NAME OF THE LORD!
