An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
"For Such a Time as This!"
Ever feel as though God doesn't know where you are? Or that maybe you are in the wrong place at the wrong time? Be encouraged--the Heavenly Gardener knows exactly where you are, why you are there and what He plans to do...and do I have proof for you!
This past Saturday evening I attended a homecoming banquet at Evangel University, Springfield, MO, where my husband is a professor. We were delighted to have as a guest speaker a Congressman from Kansas, Todd Tiahrt, an Evangel grad, and a whole-hearted servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. The evening concluded as another graduate, Admiral Vernon Clark, Chief of USA Naval Operations, spoke to us via an audio message, again clearly proclaiming his faith in God in these troubled times.
But that's not all! We must not forget our beloved President, George W. Bush, a born-again believer--Jesus Christ is HIS Commander-in-Chief. AND, not far from him stands Attorney-General John Ashcroft, another born-again believer, a man of true faith and integrity. He's from my home town - and my home church, by the way, and we are quite proud of him.
God knows how to place His strategic people in strategic places at the right time. Right now, in the middle of a national crisis of monumental proportions, I look at our leaders--and I thank God. For you see, I firmly believe the Lord of the harvest, the Heavenly Gardener Himself, has "planted" them exactly where they are "for such a time as this."
If you love the Lord, serve the Lord, place Him first in your life, you too can know that the same Lord of the Harvest has planted YOU too right where He wants you to be--for such a time as this! Could be in a wonder zone--or a war zone--but HE placed you there--and He'll be WITH you there. It's His promise--you can count on it!
May we each gladly and faithfully serve Him where He has placed us...and may God's blessing, wisdom and grace rest upon all our leaders, especially those who know the Lord, whom, I believe, are "brought to the kingdom for such a time as this!"
...and that's just a thought or two from my heart to yours!
