"And Jesus Passed By!"
He's been by the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and every hurting home that faces the holidays without their loved ones. He's there--He's here in our world today--He lives, He cares, He loves...walk in His footsteps with me today and let's see just exactly where He passes by--and STOPS.....
He stops by the sinful...yes, the terrorists who committed the horrors of 9-11...He died for them too. He sees the sin, the utter sickness and depravity of the heart, and if each will listen, he will hear the Savior's footsteps halting, stopping by the heart's door, whispering, "For THIS sin, I died....Come to Me...I will forgive!"
He stops by the sorrowing...yes, the loved ones who grieve over the many thousands of lost friends and family. He knows the heartbreak and the loss; He hears and understands the "Why, Lord?s"; He feels the pain and He stops to bring His love, His comfort and His peace that only HE can give. If each will listen, they too will hear a suffering Savior's footsteps halting, stopping by a heart's door, whispering, "For YOUR grief, I died...Lean on Me...I will be your strength and comfort."
He stops by the saints...yes, the Christians who still volunteer endless hours to help the hurting--the tired, weary, run-down, worn-out saints who keep on giving when it seems there's no more to give...He's seen the saintly acts of those who may not even know Him personally, but work on, with love for their fellowman...and to them too, He whispers, "For YOU, I also died--to give you strength and stamina, to give you MY life, to let MY Love flow through you....to be MY hands extended to give help, healing--and hope."
...and He stops by YOU today...the Suffering Savior ever lives to bring peace, strength, comfort, direction to your life and your unique need today. He is a God who is always there, who will never fail, who has all the time in the world--and in eternity--to stop by and touch you. Wherever, whoever you are, listen--you will hear Him whisper to you too, for He loves You--the Jesus of the Word passes by YOUR way to meet YOUR need this day.
...and that's just a faith-filled thought or two from my heart to yours!

An Encouraging Word for Times Like These
"Tell Me the Story of Jesus," so the old hymn reads, and many of us, from very young children have heard the story that never grows old! But--did you ever notice how many times "Jesus passed by" - and STOPPED to help--and bless--hurting humanity?
I believe "this same Jesus" who walked the shores of Galilee and trod the streets of Jerusalem, still walks our way today...
