Meet Dr. George O. Wood, newly elected General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, a prolific, three-point sermon writer and speaker in his own right, with a passion for His Master and for missions worldwide.Dr. Wood, is a valued friend and former interim pastor at Central Assembly of God Church, Springfield, Missouri, where our family attends church. We were in transition--between pastors--and Dr. Wood, an honored member of our congregation, assumed what he referred to as a "scary" position - from sitting in a pew to standing behind the pulpit of the famed "flagship" of the Assemblies of God....."next door" to Assemblies of God International Headquarters where he "worked"!
It was with great pride I introduce him to the audience at Peggie's Place. Oh, he's the usual good and gregarious pastor--winsome and warm, with seasoned words for the saints and warning words for the "ain'ts"--but he's cool, contemporary--and would you believe, computerized!
