Read Genesis 1 - for the real story! It was a super-week - it supercedes all others - TO SAY THE LEAST!On Day One, light exploded all through the dark expanse of the zero zone - night and day began.....in a WORD - in the "beginning" - whenever that was! On Day Two, the sky showed up, in all its sparkling beauty; on Day Two, land and ocean appeared (and Peggie was happy - oceans everywhere!). On Day Three came the vegetable-bearing plants and trees (and all kids who hate veggies said "A-men?"). Day Four displayed the sun and moon - the sun for sun-tanners, the moon for howling dogs!
On Day 5 (it was a busy week!) the Creator brought on the creatures of the deep and sky - mini-fish and maxi-birds - His glorious creations. But He wasn't done. On Day 6 the ZOO arrived - and what a zoo - little monkeys and big bears, tall giraffes and tiny mice - and it was wonderful - better than any zoo you've ever visited! But that wasn't all - into this mysterious wonderful universe marched man - followed by woman - and they've been marching, walking, jumping, leaping, sleeping, loving, hating, living, dying - ever since! Never a dull moment - a full week and God wasn't even tired!
But He had one more day to account for - and what could He do? Nothing! And that's exactly what He did - nothing! He rested and reviewed His marvelous works - and He smiled.......
Now nothing in God's Word says He "smiled" - but come on, how would YOU feel after making such a wonderful world? You'd smile too! Super Sunday....Super Tuesday...Super Anything - God's work beat them all! And whether it was seven 24-hour days, as some believe, or seven eons of time, as others believe, IT WAS DONE - for all to see - and we're STILL looking, observing, taking photos with mini-cameras and marveling at the great works of our Creator God!!
But let's be real - some days life for us is anything but SUPER.....

Mundane Mondaysand we're relieved there's only seven days - any more would have us all in a funny farm - and what in the world would we do with our seven-day calendars!! (For the creative reader, you can certainly come up with some lively, descriptive words of your own for your woeful week in progress! Be my guest!!)

Frantic Fridays
Senseless Saturdays
Super-awful SundersSo what to do? I've got an idea....Scratch out that awful, no-good, terrible week on your calendar and replace it with another, direct from God's Word....for your Creator God has got a few "Super Seven" words for your awful, terrible, no-good, miserable day, week, year, and forever.
God's Mercy avails on Monday!
Lamentations 3-22-24 - "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him."
God's Truth prevails on Tuesday!
Psalm 26:3 KJV - "For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth."
God's Wisdom directs your ways on Wednesday!
Proverbs 8:14 KJV - "TCounsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength."
God's Trustworthiness shines through on Thursday!
2 Samuel 7:28 - "O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant."
God's Faithfulness forsakes you not on Friday!
Psalm 57:10 (NIV) - "For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies."
God's Sustenance keeps you steadfast on Saturday!
Psalm 18:35 - "You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great."God's Sovereignty celebrates His Lordship on Sunday!Admitedly, your days and dilemmas may not fit so neatly in your calendar - life isn't "word-perfect (!!). Go ahead and mix-n-match the Super-Seven for YOUR week - find Scriptures to document each truth - what a Bible study you can develop on your own!
Psalm 71:5 NIV - "For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth."
Remember, He made the world with His Word andd He can unscramble YOURS in a Word too. Learn to love His Word and to derive from it the daily strength, courage and grace you need to get through each week.
So whose week do you prefer - yours or His?? I'm chooin' His - and my favorite day?? Why, Sunday, when He rested - and I can too, secure in the knowledge of a Creator God activiely involved in all the other days of my week, whatever month, year, or timeless funk I find myself in at any given time!! Believe it for yourself, try it and discover "one week in the life of a super-saint - YOU!! - that will be the beginning of the rest of your life - for time and eternity - TO SAY THE LEAST!!
