Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way

My dad had a little "three-monkey" figurine on his desk, "See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil." Maybe you had one too--a cute way to remind us to guard our eyes, our ears and our actions! Well, the monkey I refer to in today's devo is not cute nor a reminder to do good. He--or it--as the case may be--is a terror, real or imagined, that's hit New Delhi, India, filling hearts with fear as he allegedly attacks unsuspecting people, injures or kills, then runs on to his next victim.

News releases (see below) and rumors abound--and I have the good fortune to have a friend in New Delhi from whom I've got this story, right from the scene of the unfolding drama (Thanks, Prakash!):

The Monkey man spreading terrible fear among the people! It cause death of one pregnant woman and another man. they were sleeping in the roof of flat because of unbearable hot, and disturbed by the pandamonium at night and fell down from the room and die !!

There are several rumours connecting to this phenomena. Some say it's by some gang who sow distress in people and others say it's the spies of other countries, while the latest conclusion is it's the creatures from some other planet and this kind of experience have had with other countries about five years back!!

No one yet seen this direct!! One who had bad experience states that it vanished after tearing by nails !! It is also astonishing that the nail is made of metal !!

Pray for the people of New Delhi, being traumatized by the "monkey man" -- that the source of this attack--or wild rumor--will be found and stopped! The "monkey man" is no laughing matter--and neither is the OTHER "monkey man" I know--the one from HELL--that is after me--and you! He's REAL--and if you're a Christian, living for Christ, be SURE he IS after you, but also be encouraged--he only chases those who live for the Lord. Live for him--and he'll leave you alone!! I'd rather live for the Lord any day--but what's a Christian to DO in the face of fierce attack?

You see, this "monkey man" from hell has a powerful agenda--to kill, steal and destroy--to traumatize and terrorize you, to keep you from serving God and living a victorious Christian life. So what do we do? The same three things that the people in New Delhi are trying to do--they're out to first, be aware of any danger, then try to track him/it--or the rumor--down, and finally to capture him or call a stop to the rumors--so the craziness stops! OR, in other words, to MIND him, to FIND him--and to BIND him!

And so we do with the "monkey man" of our souls. We MIND him, all right--we're VERY aware of HIS existence; but we must go further to FIND him--with diligent search to see where's in our lives he's trying to attack--and THEN, we BIND him in the Name of the Lord--and he MUST flee! The Monkey Man--and me? He's not got a chance, For I've got the secret to his successful capture--the power and authority of God's Word and the presence of THE INCARNATE Word HIMSELF--and so do you! Now believe it--and we will all have a SAFE, victorious day!
