REAL war is not funny--but somehow our teen kids have found a barrel of fun in "pretending" to war, not with real guns, but with laser equipment. These crazy kids will run around trying to escape being a target, while at the same time trying to target their best friends with their make-believe weapons. It's called 21st century "hide-and-seek"--and I'm hiding if they come after ME! Some teens, into the game bigtime, will play outdoors, in camouflage dress, trying to blend in with the forest and beat the foe. Thills and chills, so they claim--and my son is one of them!

It was last year's spring break--and the phone starting ringing at my home. Seems that some friends were trying to rig up a gang to play laser tag--and they were having a terrible time trying to tag one another to even play the game! It sounded to Mom like a major expedition to the moon was underway--this was serious business. They never were able to "tag" everyone and so far, the war, while not over, nor yet begun, has been at least suspended until further notice.

It gave Mom a good laugh--AND a devotional! For you see, as Christians we play laser tag every day--only it's not play. It's for real. Satan, our enemy, attacks from all fronts--he's out to win the war. We can spend all our time chasing him, avoiding him, freezing when he approaches--or we can put on the armor of the Lord, stand tall, and then go forward in the Name of the Lord, knowing the devil and all his "playmates" cannot conquer or claim us as victims--as LONG as we don't leave home--or even get out of bed--without HIS armor in place in our lives!

It's no laughing matter when Satan and his forces begin beaming their laser lights our way--to put out OURS! But we can remain strong in the Lord and "in the power of His might," knowing He has already won the war. The victory is ours to claim--we are winners in the army of the Lord.

Don't hide in a corner from the onslaughts of the enemy--his doubt, despair, discouragement and defeat. Stand tall--face him in the power of the Lord and the armor of God--and you've GOT him every time! Remember, HE doesn't have the LAST LAUGH--WE DO--and someday with joy and victory, we will rejoice in his eternal defeat...game over...and by God's grace, we win! Now believe it--put on your armor each day--and go forward in the Name of the Lord!

"Lord, I'm in the middle of real warfare, not with flesh and blood, but against the enemy of my soul. Help me to stand tall, to know that in Your strength, I can conquer the foe. I put on Your armor this day and go forward in faith and confidence, knowing You go with me and we will win, In Your Name, Amen."
