Thanksgiving at Peggie's Place . . . "Don't Let the Grinch Steal Thanksgiving!"
Children are wonderful...they say grandchildren are more wonderful....I don't know yet, and hope I will still be functioning in a sane mode by the time my young adult boys "grow up," get married and give me some grandbabies! In the meantime, come with me, back in time, to our own "little kid" days, or to our KIDS' "little kid" days. We remember the excitement, the suspense, the guessing games, the wonder and joy...the love of Christmas...For seen through the eyes of a child, it IS pure wonder and joy as a young child catches his first glimpse of Christmas--lights he can see, presents he can open, carols he can "sing"--not to mention the cookies he can taste! We've got a snapshot of our toddler Joey, now 20, caught in the act, reaching to snitch one of Mama's Italian cookies still cooling on the baking sheets....a perfect shot, a priceless memory! And you can believe, those cookies are long since, "ALL GONE!"
Can WE, as adults come as children to the Christ of Christmas? No, not to the manger--but to the Cross and to the Empty Tomb of our Savior and Risen Lord. Come as a child today--eager to learn, eager to laugh, eager to live, eager to love. You see, HE is te Master Teacher, the Author of Joy, the Giver of Life and the Lord of Love--and He awaits our worship this day.
"O COME, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!"
