My late, beloved dad, an Assemblies of God pastor for many years, had a favorite story he loved to tell. Seems there was a man at the altar seeking the fullness of God in his life. Two well-meaning brothers in Christ were praying for him, one on either side, each encouraging their praying friend. One said, "Hold on!" The other said, "Let go." The poor man, totally confused, looked up and said, "So what do you want me to DO? YOU tell me to "hold on" - YOU tell me to "let go"! Don't know if the frustrated seeker ever realized the real answer or not....and the answer is.....

YES! Hold on tightly to HIM--His love, peace, joy; His ways, His Word, His Will, His promises, His purity, His purposes....and let go of ME--my will, plans, goals; my worries, anxieties, fears; my past, my present, my future. When I let it all go, then will I know His fullness and His power working in and through my life.

And that's ALL there is to it! Sure--it's a tough assignment, but it's the secret of knowing God. it's a lifetime process of learning and seeking and trusting--and we've got the rest of our lives to do it. I'm a candidate for all the fullness of God--how about you!!
