Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!
Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for April 9: "Snake 'n Shake!?!"

No, I didn't misspell it! I do LOVE "Steak 'n Shake," the restaurant - especially the "deluxe cheeseburger with bacon" - add to that fries and a chocolate shake...not necessarily DIET food but it's SOOO delicious....and so was the fruit Eve tasted that fateful day in the Garden - but "blame it on the snake," Eve says....the SNAKE who talked!Now THAT'S spooky! But somewhere in the great plan of God, He allowed a beautiful, elegant, sleek-looking snake to TALK. It got Eve's attention--wouldn't it get YOURS??
The magnificent, talking snake captured Eve's attention with lies and a misrepresentation of who God was. This clever schemer was such a charmer that he soon had Eve eating out of his hand--an apple, that is (or was it a banana or a peach? Who knows!)
The day the snake talked became the day that Eve--and Adam--walked - right out of the garden, in sadness, out of the fellowship of a God who loved them. Their world - our world - was shaken. It looked like the snake won.......or DID he?
No way--in God's perfect plan, Jesus Christ, the "second Adam," gave His life to destroy the powers of Satan. Remember the "shaking" - the earthquake, the darkness that came over the world? It was GOD'S turn NOW - He truly shook the world, the flesh and the devil that day at the Cross. He WON!
"It is finished," our Lord cried. And it IS! So don't let that snake, the evil one, shake and spook YOU out. He's corrupt, a liar straight from the pit of hell. Do not listen to his evil tales and smooth talk. Do not believe his lies. He will cause you to fear and to experience false guilt; he will depress and oppress you. He will tempt you, deceive you, and destroy you--if you let him! Don't!!
Know that as a child of God, you need NOT succumb to the wiles of the devil. Jesus Christ came to bruise the serpent's head--and He did it once-and-for-all at Calvary. Spooked out or shaken up by tricks of the old snake? Stop it, son and daughter of Adam, in Jesus' Name. Live in the freedom of the second Adam, God's grace and gift to your world--and you will have a wonderful, snake-free, shake-free, choco-rich freedom in your soul this day.
And by the way, want to eat at Steak 'n Shake tonight? Meet you there - chuckle - can't you see us all piling in there tonight??
