Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!
Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for April 8: "Blowin' in the Wind...God's Way!"
Today's Bible reading (International Bible Society): Luke 6:37-38 (NIV) . . . Visit Bible Gateway every day!
There's a song from ages past whose title remains in my aged brain, "Blowin' in the Wind" - remember? You're old, too??Well, hang on and don't blow away, for today we are "blowin' in the wind....God's Way!" Why should THAT make a difference? Because when we belong to God, we don't do it "My Way" (another aged song!), we do it HIS way - and HIS way is perfect.
We live but for a moment as compared to eternity, and then POUFF - we're gone; we "fly away" (would you believe, another song - chuckle!) or, like the grass, just blow away....sounds pathetic and meaningless, but wait a minute.....it's NOT for those who love the Lord and love His ways!
For you see, as we move on from Saturday to Sunday's reading, we learn about God's ways and how to live BEFORE we blow away......don't judge, don't condemn; do forgive, do give.....and God's blessings will be upon us. Life is short but we can live it fully and freely HIS WAY and find freedom, happiness, joy, love, peace, grace, mercy, forgiveness - and heaven too - as we "fly away" beyond the blue.....sounds lots better than "blowin' in the wind" MY way, don't you agree!
Why not do it HIS WAY and have a great, wonderful, grace-filled, choco-rich, fly-high day....and don't forget to mow that grass so it can fly away too!
