Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!
Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for March 29: "In the Light of the Morning Star!"
Today's Bible reading (International Bible Society): Philippians 2:14-18 (NIV) . . . Visit Bible Gateway every day!
Joey is an amateur astronomer who delights to sit in the middle of a country field in the middle of the night looking at the stars. Not ME--I'd rather sleep! But "shining like stars in the universe" in the middle of the DAY TIME is biblical for ALL of us, believe it or not....read the verse!!And now comes the clincher....WHILE we "shine like stars in the universe," we're not to moan and groan at life's crooks and corners on the way - we're not to complain or argue - we're to be "without fault" - and even be GLAD!
Now how in the world do we HUMANS - moms, dads, husbands, wives, career people, EVER do THAT! Sounds impossible - and it IS, unless the "Morning Star" lives within us and is Lord of our lives, spirit, body and soul. As HE shines, people see HIS glory, not ours.....
But don't stop reading - for all the while that Morning Star shines, His spotlight is on us too, working within us to make us more like Himself. Quite a project, we readily admit - but He is the Master Carpenter, the Master Cleaner, the Master Creator, who can make us anew wherever we need His workmanship.
Let HIM work on that mad/sad/bad button that people around us see and love to push....HE can disconnect it and replace it wih HIS shining Light, THIS day! Let Him - and, in the light of the Morning Star, you'll have a better, Light-filled, God-filled, choco-rich day!
....and so will I.....now WHERE can I hide that "bright" kid's telescope...mischevious chuckle from Mama!
