When the waves of the enemy swirl around you and threaten your life with crisis after crisis, flood after flood, you're not alone....All believers in Christ will face the floods of the enemy, but there is One who sits ABOVE the flood and will never let it hurt you.....enjoy this devotional and know that HE, King of the flood, is in charge - and the devil himself is about to drown - not YOU!

Floods aren't fun--they're disastrous! Usually they happen only on the TV local or world news and in your newspapers. Right? Wrong...especially if you lived at my house yesterday!
Ever have a "Murphy's Law" day--when everything goes wrong? The day began with a sleepy nightmare! I found myself sinking into deep sleep, "lost in New York" without wallet, without husband and without hope! I thankfully awoke only to head down the road to my dentist and discover a looming "negative cash flow" on the horizon, and a "little" stress overflowing in my heart!!
It got worse! By afternoon, I decided I really needed to buy that "Maxed Out with Martha" book (see past devotional!), returned home to find business calls on my answering machine. During the process of returning the first call, my teen son comes into my office with a scribbled note, "The toilet just overflowed!" I run upstairs with my phone, try to continue a business conversation and tackle the toilet all at the same time.....you had to be there....It was hilarious, comic calamity at its best, and I said, "There HAS to be a devotional in all of this!"
And there is, for as my pastor often says, "What the devil means for harm, God can turn around for good!" My disastrous day is about to be turned "around the world" into blessing for you, and a lesson for us all to learn. For you see, when the devil overtakes, overthrows and overwhelms, we have a choice. We can choose to let anxiety, worry, and frustration flood our minds and hearts--or we can choose to turn to the God who's constantly on guard of our lives. He overlooks our past; He overshadows our present; He oversees our future; and He sits KING OF THE FLOODS FOREVER...even in the funny--or frantic--circumstances of life! He will be there!
And so the message is OVER AND OUT...the secret is OVERCOMING FAITH in the God who knows all about overflowing floods--internal, external--and whatever other dimension you--or the devil--may discover. He's a God we can trust; we can believe; we can rely upon in all the floods of life. He is in control. Appropriate HIS overcoming faith in YOUR overflowing flood today--it's there for you! Believe it--and have a wonderful day!!
