Good morning, good afternoon, good evening...wherever in the world you live! I hear you're a chocoholic too - I won't tell a soul! Chocolate is good for the body - and God's Word is good for the soul: "O taste and see that the Lord is good...(Psalm 34:8 KJV)." So please join me for a few moments of fun, food and inspiration - it's all calorie-free (believe that and I'll sell you the Brooklyn Bridge) and might even make your day!

Bible Byte 'n Chocolate Chew for April 25: "Grandkids? God Doesn't Have Any!"

"God has no grandkids," the saying goes....and this morning I lived it out. I needed to connect seriously with the God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac - and even more personally with the God of my mom and dad and the rich Christian heritage in which I had grown as a child.

Oh, sure, I've loved the Lord all my life, but this morning an amazing thing happened as I prayed - that's ME, the daughter of godly parents, now with the Lord. I come from a rich godly heritage. I saw and heard Mom and Dad pray many times - this time, it was MY turn. I needed to prove the Lord for MYSELF, as I have, many times before.

My cousin, 90, (my dad's niece) has been under a heavy load caring for her ailing husband, 88, for some time now. Multiple physical problems, entered the hospital, then rehabilitation, then back to the hospital with pneumonia on top of the many complications.

The dr. talked of putting in feeding tubes, or making a decision of no tubes, etc.....heart-breaking issues families must face. This 90-year-old Christian pioneer cried, "I can't take care of him" - feed him, lift him, bathe him....an impossible situation.

This morning around 6:30 a.m. she called to talk to me - quite distraught - I prayed with her, desperately asking the Lord to please intervene, even this day....and then there was a release, a calmness, in my spirit - and hers - and we concluded the conversation in a calm manner.

About 15 minutes later, the phone rang, my cousin again, this time telling me, through tears, that God had shown mercy - He had just taken her beloved husband home - the doctor had just called her with the news. Through her tears, she was thanking God for His mercy and the answer to prayer.....

Of course, the family grieves - a loved one will be missed. But we saw God, the omnipotent, prayer-hearing,prayer-answering God, hear the prayer of a preacher's kid this morning - praying as she had been taught by HER mom and dad.....No, I wasn't God's grandkid - I was His KID - and He HEARD me.....It was amazing....God's amazing grace and mercy. A powerful testimony that God hears and answers the prayesr of His children......Don't give up, child of God. He's listening!!
