The skinny little girl grew up to be a skinny young woman. She spoke at her high
school graduation. She played and sang in her pastor dad's church, and as the
"leader" began to develop, she became involved in youth and music ministries,
ministering with her dad, visiting the sick, preparing the bulletin, writing
BETTER plays, and producing them for holiday services...and all the while, the
lunch was being prepared...
Every little girl knows that before you eat a lunch, you must ask the Lord to
bless it...and she did. At an early age, this young girl dedicated her life
totally to Jesus Christ. Every talent and ability was given to Him. He received
it, developed it, matured it, and blessed it until it was ready for His plan and
purpose. Sometimes the lunch itself was not too attractive--it wasn't always
tasty, times weren't always pleasant, but the little girl knew the lunch belonged
to God, and she didn't dare to touch the taste or the timing, for He would do it
just right. And He did. He planned a young life perfectly to fit into HIS
purpose; He timed it in providential fashion, and adapted it to meet His needs.
He changed her career in mid-30s from legal secretary to assistant editor, and
within a year, provided her a companion to love her, lead her, walk beside
her...and guard and protect "the lunch."
The story takes a strange twist here, for the lunch once blessed, turned into a
"Mac" - not a burger, but a formidable computer, a technology tool the little
girl had shyed away from for years. "Learn it," He said, in so many words. "And
know that the lunch you have placed in My hand is MINE to do with as I will...Do
not question or be afraid." And she let go of the lunch, once again, and placed
it completely in the Master's hand. He blessed it...and by now, you know who that
little girl is, and what He's done with her lunch.! She sits at this computer,
typing this devotional, amazed and humbled at what an awesome God has done with
the little lunch given to Him. Every part of the lunch given was received by Him,
blessed, and then...would you like to hear the "rest of the story?" Jesus didn't
keep the lunch - He blessed it, broke it (and THAT'S another story...smile...but
you know, you can't bless other people until you have first hurt yourself!), and
is now giving it to the world.
And that's what's happened--to God ALONE be the glory! Recent statistics show the
lunch is being distributed to 187 countries/territories of the world (see below). All
because a little girl gave it to the Master. And you are no different than that
little girl. You can give Him the talents and abilities you possess. He will
bless them, and distribute them to the world where YOU live...perhaps your
school, your church, your home, your community, or around the world. I dare you
to give Him YOUR lunch, and see what He will do with it for the advancement of
the Kingdom of God! For that's how much He loves His world, and that's how much
He loves you! I now praise Him with my whole being for what HE has done....all
because this little girl gave Him her lunch! Will you?
Please e-mail me to say

Are you hurting? Then you've come to the right place--the place where long ago a woman from Samaria found help and healing. From human answers? No--from the One Who IS the Answer! Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, awaits us all at the Well today--come with me, and let's meet Him there!
A Hurting
Word...
I like to eat, and I'm a pretty
good cook--great stories, true and false, abound about my creative turkey
dinners, my cravings for chocolate ice cream, and my crunch-ability for anything
salty to go along with it! But this story goes way back to little girl days, and
it's about a lunch--a story that exceeds any concoction I've created in my
kitchen, or you've been lucky enough to eat at my dinner table! Come to the Well,
and let's meet the "little girl and her lunch!"
A Helping Word...or
Two!
She was a skinny little girl, with pigtails, and a love for Jesus. She proudly
held the banner as she led the VBS parade down Main Street of the little town
where she lived. And she usually won the prize for bringing the most visitors!
This little girl accepted Jesus as her Savior at a VBS--and many times
thereafter, she was her dad's convert at any altar call given! She learned to
play piano, and began playing in her dad's small church at 11 years old--and
that's not all she played. One of her favorite fun things to do, besides playing
house, was to play church, and even enjoy being the preacher. She played
secretary too, and loved collecting books and papers, of all sizes and
shapes...she loved the library...she loved to write, and her first effort was a
terrible play she remembers to this day.....and all the while, the lunch was
being prepared...
His Healing Words
